It was recently announced that a $50 million four-year plan would be put in place in Victoria, Australia, in order to address cyber security capability and tackle the growing cybercrime threat.
Indeed, the new strategy will aim to support local businesses and help develop a more dynamic and competitive cyber sector in Victoria. It will also target improvements to the government’s online services and communications to give users more confidence about those services and assure security.
Hence, this will enhance the cyber protection of data and government systems while growing jobs and supporting cyber businesses.
Moreover, this strategy will focus on growing and promoting skills training for the cyber industry in order to increase innovation and jobs growth. Students will then be able to pursue a certificate IV in cyber security, with 2,000 students already being enrolled in the course in 2021.
This initiative aims to encourage local innovators and entrepreneurs as well as future-proof Australia’s economy.
