Researchers are working on using artificial intelligence (AI) driven technologies to help diagnose and treat cognitive disorders.
Indeed, AI could identify and measure relevant cognitive and behavioural patterns that signal early neurodegeneration. By using AI algorithms and sophisticated assessment tools, there could be significant advancements within healthcare and especially cognitive health.
Advanced AI techniques are able to detect underlying brain activity and measure large complex datasets. These technologies could then conduct a broad cognitive assessment on a frequent basis with real-world data, across multiple disorders, populations, symptoms and mechanisms of action.
To do so, there is a need to focus on affordability, scalability, and Big Data analysis powered by AI, as well as use more cloud platforms, automated methods, and manufacturable hardware.
