It was recently reported that a software company used by the police across the UK is currently working on stopping all relations with Russia.
Indeed, i2, the company used to gather data on criminal suspects and track down suspects, has rejected several approaches from Social Links, a Russian firm due to security concerns. Authorities have warned companies about using Russian software and antivirus tools and thus, European businesses have started to decline to work with Social Links and other Russian organisations.
It is still unclear if police forces in the UK have been using Social Links technology. The software company has however declared that it had no relationship and no plans to work with the Russian tool. Social Links states that it has never provided software or services to the Russian government and that it was currently evacuating its staff from Russia and Ukraine to the EU and it will be liquidating its legal entities in Russia.
