The University of Liverpool has recently opened a £12.7 million Centre of Excellence in emerging digital technologies.
Indeed, the Digital Innovation Facility (DIF) is looking to help businesses and organisations wanting to collaborate with University experts across various technology areas such as virtual reality, robotics, artificial intelligence (AI), data science, simulation, and data modelling. The centre then features cutting edge equipment, including a Mixed Reality Lab, Extreme Environment Lab, and an Immersive Laboratory, as well as skilled support.
The centre possesses the latest Virtual Reality technology and equipment, tests robotics and autonomous systems, and develops sensory technologies for future ‘tactile internet’ applications. It also offers a purpose-built environment to enhance collaborations and partnerships between academics, industry and organisations in the data science, computer, robotics, and engineering industry.
The centre is co-funded by the University of Liverpool and Liverpool City Region Combined Authority’s Local Growth Fund and is on its way to becoming a hub for Digital Innovation.
