The NIHR has recently received £1.2 million in funding to develop new AI technology in order to help treat Crohn’s Disease.
Indeed, the innovative technology was created by Motilent and aims to enhance patient treatment and recovery through its new artificial intelligence (AI) tech. As around 115,000 people in the UK are affected by Crohn’s Disease, it is vital to support the development of medical technologies that can help patients.
The AI-based tech is already in use by various UK health services to complement standard magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans to measure and track movements of the intestine. By doing so, this should provide insights into disease progression and treatment response and allow health providers to give more informed clinical treatments.
With the funding, the NIHR is hoping to roll out the technology in more than 10 UK hospitals all across the UK.
