Cambridgeshire is set to see more and more autonomous robots delivering supermarket goods to people in the villages.
Indeed, the county council and Starship Technologies have started a partnership with the Co-op to trial supermarket delivery robots in Cambridgeshire. It is expected to attend to the 12,000 residents of 5,000 homes in Cambourne with the aim to reduce short car journeys and improve air quality.
The robots are working with zero-carbon electricity and are advanced autonomous devices that don’t need a driver. They are using artificial intelligence and machine learning to travel as well as computer vision-based navigation to map their environment.
The robots will be operating in the area, including Northampton and Milton Keynes with the goal to extend across the county and use more suppliers. This enterprise should make life easier for residents and reduce congestion.
