The Canadian Government has recently been investigating a cyberattack that targeted Global Affairs Canada (GAC) on January 19.
Indeed, it was reported that critical services are still functioning although some access to the internet and internet-based services are not currently available. The Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat (TBS), Shared Services Canada, and Communications Security Establishment are working with GAC to address the incident and restore these services.
An investigation is also ongoing and tools are in place to monitor and take active measures to neutralize threats when they occur. However, the government hasn’t been able to attribute the attack to any group or country yet.
