It was recently found out that cloud services will be accounting for over half of key IT spending in the next three years.
Indeed, a recent study by Gartner showed that enterprises are increasing their adoption of cloud strategy. By 2025, 51% of IT spending inĀ application software, infrastructure software, business process services, and system infrastructure will have shifted from traditional solutions to the public cloud. On top of that, almost two-thirds of spending on application software will be directed towards cloud technologies in 2025.
It was also reported that organizations need to invest more into higher value skills and capabilities such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, and DevOps. The adoption of distributed cloud will be able to accelerateĀ cloud shift because it brings public cloud services into domains that have previously been non-cloud.
Hence, more than $1.3tn in enterprise IT spending will depend on the shift to cloud, growing to almost $1.8tn in 2025.
