A recent study by Ensono showed that hybrid cloud environments are becoming significant in the cloud strategy among industry and the public sector.
Indeed, it was reported that 71% of IT decision-makers in the public sector use a mix of public and private cloud platforms while only 9% using public cloud completely and 14% using private cloud platforms.
Besides, it was found out that legacy technologies were usually the main reason for organizations to be slow in switching to the cloud. Around 1 in 10 respondents are using unspecified legacy technologies in their IT infrastructures, and another third still operates a mainframe environment in their IT stacks.
Yet, security and compliance are what drive companies the most to adopt cloud solutions, as well as technical capabilities, and pricing.
The study showed that Microsoft Azure was the most-used public cloud provider, closely followed by Google Cloud, IBM, and Amazon Web Services.
