Judges will be looking for:

Judges will be looking for:

  • Evidence of Business funding utilised for Technical development in DevOps Tooling and transformation not solely on feature development.
  • Technical Sustainability – Technical sustainability covers the direct decisions we make for the system to produce its desired results. This includes both hardware and software decisions as well as things like latency in the system, testing requirements, or the scale up/out requirements.
  • Operational Sustainability – Any aspect of the system that requires human maintenance would fall under this section. Areas like the deployment process, the inner developer loop and on-call incident volumes are common to this level of sustainability.
  • Environmental sustainability – Environmental sustainability focuses on the impact a system has on the ecology of the planet. All three types of carbon emission are included in this area: Scope 1 (direct emissions), Scope 2 (indirect emissions), and Scope 3 (all other emissions).

  • Elaboration of design, architecture, monitoring of cloud service and performance.
  • Demonstration of Clear and concise requirements and configuration effort supporting Business goals.

FinOps is a cultural practice. It’s the way for teams to manage their cloud costs, where everyone takes ownership of their cloud usage. Cross-functional teams in Engineering, Finance, Product, etc work together to enable faster product delivery, while at the same time gaining more financial control and predictability.

Judges will be looking for:

  • Demonstrate that you were able to adapt below principles in your transformation.
  • Accountability and Enablement – showcase how you were able to build a culture of cost and value awareness within your business.
  • Visibility and Traceability – showcase how you implemented a process to visualise accurate data and effective metrics, which starts with the notion of cloud costs visibility and traceability. This is driven by building proper resource hierarchy and project structure standards and supported by a labelling and tagging data architecture using cloud resources.
  • Cloud cost optimisation —showcase where the money was spent  to maximize the business value. Showcase evidence where you have been able to influence this.

DevOps Leader of the Year

Awarded to the most outstanding individual manager or team leader over the last 12 months.

Judges will be looking for:

  • Demonstrate what they did to build, support, nurture, develop and motivate a team to become successful
  • Evidences that are both quantitative (measurable metrics or technical elements that show statically what has been achieved) and qualitative (feedback from the team, project stakeholders, senior’s organisation leaders or customer/users).
  • Examples of procedures put in place to ensure high quality results
  • Evidence and evaluation of self-improvement and commitment to high standards

Judges will be looking for:
