The UK government is set to implement a new scheme to help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) develop their technology skills and digital tools.
Indeed, this digital initiative aims to use technology to drive SMEs growth. For this, the scheme includes discounts of up to £5.000 on approved accounting and customer relationship management (CRM) software. Entrepreneurs will also have access to advice through a new online platform to choose the right digital technologies.
The government then hopes to support around 100.000 SMEs in becoming more productive and profitable by adopting productivity-enhancing software that can improve the way they operate as well as advance their cloud adoption.
In order to participate in the initiative, SMEs need to be UK-registered for at least a year prior to application, employ between five and 249 people, have been trading actively over the past 12 months, and be buying the approved software for the first time. It is also planned that the scheme will include new e-commerce software to help businesses maximize their sales online.
