The UK government is set to be piloting an AI Standards Hub in order to harness AI’s benefits and lead the UK’s national and international governance of AI technologies.
Indeed, the AI Standards Hub is part of the UK’s AI strategy and will aim to create practical tools for business, unite the AI community, and develop education materials for organisations. It will focus on growing UK engagement to develop global AI standards, provide tolls and training for businesses to follow these standards, as well as have partnerships with various experts in the field.
These standards will be developed by the British Standards Institute (BSI) and the National Metrology Institute (NPL) in collaboration with the Alan Turing Institute. They are currently under review as the collaboration develops.
We expect that the standards will be kept under review and develop as national and international collaboration develops. In other words, watch this space.
