Vodafone to recruit 7.000 software engineers to focus on digital transformation

Vodafone recently announced that it would recruit 7,000 software engineers to its workforce by 2025 so as to increase its digital services across Europe and Africa.

Indeed, the company is aiming to strengthen its European technology division through recruitment, reskilling, and insourcing. By doing so, this investment will help build faster and cheaper products and services, such as the Internet of Things (IoT), smart networks, and cybersecurity. It also hopes to drive revenue growth in a challenging environment for core connectivity.

Vodafone then wants to build a global software brand that will enable superfast connectivity and digital products for its customers. The company will be growing its technical services in order to retain more creative control over its digital services and support digital transformation.

Hence, the new engineers will be focusing on creating new digital platforms for the company’s operations and for use by third parties, as well as developing in-house IoT platforms, APIs, and increasing the integration of AI, machine learning, and the cloud.
